Daniel brings over two decades of agricultural investment experience to the firm. Along with co-founder, Thaddeus Tracy, he is responsible for all activities at Farmers Gate, including deal sourcing, portfolio construction and risk management. Daniel leads the firm’s efforts in Fresh Berries and Table Grapes, and is an active board member for all Farmers Gate portfolio companies. Prior to founding Farmers Gate, Daniel was a founding partner of Blue Road Capital, an agribusiness-focused private equity firm and before that worked for Ospraie Management, focusing on all aspects of the deal process for transactions in agricultural and related industries, including sponsoring the formation of Teays River. Daniel began his career in Credit Suisse’s investment banking analyst program and worked in Credit Suisse’s CSFB Strategic Partners private equity group. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Cornell University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences in 2001 with a B.S. in Applied Economics and Business Management. Daniel is a native New Yorker and lives on the Upper East Side with his wife, Sarah, and their two school age daughters.
