Meet Our Team

Daniel brings over two decades of agricultural investment experience to the firm. Along with co-founder, Thaddeus Tracy, he is responsible for all activities at Farmers Gate, including deal sourcing, portfolio construction and risk management. Daniel leads the firm’s efforts in Fresh Berries and Table Grapes, and is an active board member for all Farmers Gate portfolio companies. Prior to founding Farmers Gate, Daniel was a founding partner of Blue Road Capital, an agribusiness-focused private equity firm and before that worked for Ospraie Management, focusing on all aspects of the deal process for transactions in agricultural and related industries, including sponsoring the formation of Teays River. Daniel began his career in Credit Suisse’s investment banking analyst program and worked in Credit Suisse’s CSFB Strategic Partners private equity group. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Cornell University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences in 2001 with a B.S. in Applied Economics and Business Management. Daniel is a native New Yorker and lives on the Upper East Side with his wife, Sarah, and their two school age daughters.

Thaddeus has extensive strategy and investment expertise in agribusiness. Along with co-founder, Daniel Fabian, he is responsible for all activities at Farmers Gate, including deal sourcing, portfolio construction and risk management. Thaddeus leads the firm’s efforts in Dried Fruit and Opportunistic Credit, and is an active board member for all Farmers Gate portfolio companies. Prior to founding Farmers Gate, Thaddeus was the Chief Legal Officer for Teays River Investments where he was actively engaged in strategy, risk management and sustainability issues for the business, as well as being responsible for all legal issues affecting the company and its investments. Thaddeus started his career as a corporate attorney, most recently as a partner in the New York office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP and before that as an associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell. After law school Thaddeus completed a federal clerkship with the Honorable Kevin Thomas Duffy in the Southern District of New York. Thaddeus holds a J.D. degree from Fordham School of Law and a B.A. from Columbia University. Thaddeus is a native New Yorker and lives in Morningside Heights with his wife, Michele, their twin college age sons, and the family’s English Springer Spaniel.
